Retrospective - Legacy of Kain: Soul Reaver

Just found the PS1 disc wedged between some old music CDs; it must have been there for a long time. I hardly played the game (maybe one night for an hour or so) before shelving it; I think I was distracted by other things at the time. And I remember the jaggies were pretty bad on my brand new 32" CRT.

Is this a game worth revisiting? Maybe I gave up on it too quickly.

I'm always on the lookout for something different gaming wise, but I don't want to waste my time on a game that's way past it's prime.

I played the Dreamcast version and it was one of my favorite titles on the platform. Now I'm wondering where my copy is...

I too enjoyed it. The second one wasn't quite as good but it wasn't bad. I always wanted to play the 3rd to finish off the series, never got a chance.

It was good at the time, but by today's standard the controls are fairly clunky.

I remember it being kinda cool, but IIRC I dropped it after 10-20 hours for no particular reason.

I remember playing that game a lot, but lost the disk somewhere and have since gotten rid of my PS1. It was good times.
