Retarded elevator labeling.

I just went to work in a new building. The building has five floors above ground, a parking garage, and three floors below ground. Simple right? That is nine total stops for the elevator.

I stepped into the elevator from the parking garage level and I am greeted with the dumbest floor labeling I have ever seen.

My destination is the 5th floor; my options are (in the order they are listed on the selector):
LL2
G
M
M2
Basement
1
LL1
4
6

Confused? Me too. I eventually made it to the 5th floor, although there is no 5th floor button. Let me see if I can explain. I'll place the buttons in order from the lowest underground level to the highest above ground level.

LL1 - 3rd Floor, basement, as low as you can go. You might be thinking this was Lobby -1st floor, I know I did.
LL2 - 2nd Floor, basement.
Basement - 1st Floor, basement, one floor below ground level.
M - 1st floor, M stands for "Main Floor". Riiight.
G - 2nd floor, G stands for garage, not "Ground". Again, wtf?
1 - 3rd floor! Huh? This is the first floor that is not a "specialized" floor so it gets the "1" designation.
M2 - 4th floor! M2 stands for "Main Floor 2" because the "second" lobby is here which consists of an "Information" booth that is empty, right outside the elevator doors.
4 - 5th floor! Don't ask, I gave up trying to figure it out.
6 - The sixth floor! Surprise! They got ONE correct!

After stopping at every floor I finally found my office! I have been taking aspirin for a week...

It seems almost like you'd have to be trying to make a system that bizarre.

seriously do that, if not at least tell someone how fed up that is, your building has to have a facilities manager type person

So the 6th floor button is on the BOTTOM of the list of buttons?

If that's true, then that means not only do the floor labelings not make any sense, the ORDER upon which they are put are not correct either.

They must have randomized the order and the labeling...
