retail XP HSF vs. OEM XP w/ vantech 6035D

about to order and trying to decide weather to stick with the retail XP and use its HSF or go with the OEM and get an easy to install hsf like the vantech

i prefer oem + my own hsf combo because it is about the same price as the retail and you'll end up with better temps cuz the retail hsf doesn't do that great of a job of cooling. it's decent if you're not overclocking, but still on my high temp side.

i've decided to go with the vantech, but i really don't want to fool with the artic silver... does the vantech come with a thermal pad?

get retail cpu and the Vantec HSF, you just pay about $15 more for the retail cpu.

no overclock - buy retail
overclock - must buy retail - they don't care if you burn it, just don't make physical damage or cut the bridge, and remember to keep the stock HSF and proof of purchase for warranty exchange.
just pay $15 more and get easy to abuse warranty for 3 years - what a deal!

retail advantages:
less chance of buying remarked cpu
3 years easy to abuse warranty
protection box for shipping the cpu to someone else if you want to sell it in the future
installation instruction manual
logo sticker
not bad HSF

You don't want to fool with Artic Silver!!!!!!!!

It's an incredibly easy process, and it will easily shave a few degrees of your CPU temp.
