Yes, but what is your power and cooling cost to run that 925, versus the 2140?
I had similar thoughts. Not just the power usage, which is just pennies difference, but the 925 may be enough for a system to require a PSU with more output, plus either noisier cooling or more expensive cooling.
Per my earlier post, the RAM and mobo I'm using are NOT OC friendly. So I'm not planning to OC. I'll have 2 intake fans and 3 exhaust fans (including the PS fan) so cooling should be more than adequate. If the 925 gets too hot and burns up...that's Intel problem (i.e., the proc comes with a 3 year warranty and if it burns up due to defects, I'll get a new proc).
Until I find a good deal on a better PS, I'll be using an Antec 380W PS which is ~4 years old. I don't think I'll need to upgrade the PS, but I have to get another PS anyway so I plan to switch out the 380W for use in a cobbled together budget PC for my mother-in-law (mostly for e-mail and such) and use the better PS with 925.
Anyway, the 925 should serve my purposes until the better procs drop a LOT in price.
