btw, computers4sure has the duron 850 retail for $99.55 + $5.50 shipping and the duron 800 for $86.99. this is the exact same thing, as both of these companies use ingram-micro as their distributor. couple that with the $10 coupon that is available for 4sure, makes computers4sure the better deal.

Retail comes with 3 year AMD warranty, while OEM usually only have 1 year. Retail also come with a heatsink and fan... Sure, not a great heatsink and fan, but it does a good job of keeping it cool. The one i got with my Thunderbird 750 keeps it running at around 50C.

...And where at buy.com do u see it as a retail box??? I dont see anything that would suggest to me that it is retail

...And I look again, and see the part # is D850BOX

Computers4sure.com has them for 99.95 retail. Their is a $10 off coupon at fatwallet. Shipping was $5.99 to Ohio

Hey that Z-buy link looks pretty good. Anyone have experience ordering from them? Where can I find a vendor rating site??

keep in mind that pretty much all the durons available right now have the same quality core (will hit 900mhz+) and its cheaper to simply buy one sold as a 700 and then adjust the multiplier, or up your FSB settings - depending on how versatile your mobo is 🙂 i have a 700 at 115 FSB = 805mhz.

Just looked Z-buy up at www.resellerratings.com. Looks like folks especially recently have had lots of trouble if they need to return parts. Also sounds like they've got non-existent order-processing and
order-tracking systems.

Anyone have any other sites with good prices for Retail Durons and Athlons?

yeah, decided that the extra speed not worth it, should be able to make up the difference when I'm ready to o/c. Should be good for 6 months tho. Went thru techstore - pretty good ratings.

68.62 for a retail duron 750,
144.64 for a retail athlon 900,
7.95 S/H
