but is it retail package? There seems to be no indication about warranty. also, is there an included HSF with the retail package? When I try to buy it with a mobo, I am offered separate option to add HSF. so how did you know its a retail package.

i'm sure this is the retail version. I ordered an 800 Duron from this same company about 2 weeks ago and it's in the retail box sealed w/heatsink/fan. I called and placed the order because i wanted to be sure it was the retail version and the guy said it was. The 800 retail is $85 + shipping. At the time i thought this was a good deal..i still think so. Shipment was fast too!...vroom

Anyway, I usually wouldn't buy anything from a vendor that has under a rating of 3, but this one looks like it may be alright. It probably is still better to pay a few bucks more at another place just in case.

Does the Motherboard come before the cpu?? Oh well, too late now.. I've ordered this thing 'cos everyone seems to rave about these Durons!
Can anyone recommend a cheap but stable motherboard for this processor? I know the geeks will all recommend the Asus and the Abit blah blah, but we dont all have $140 to spare. I'm just trying to make a new p.c with all those spare bits I've collected and so I really dont want to spend more than $80.
Pricewatch has some board for $70 - $80 but I cant find any reviews on them here at Anand..

lordgord..i got the MSI K7T Pro2a from microbarn.com for $112 shipped. This seems to be a pretty good mb from the research i did. I think the price may have went up a little since i ordered it....which was about 2 weeks ago. It's in the retail box too....vroom

Vroom.. Thanks for the info; that mb came up $124 shipped to me, so looks like I missed out on the deal you got. Some company 1st Class Technology has 3 mb's for around $80 but I don't know if they would be reliable/stable.
I'll keep searching for the deal ...
