Retail Antec Phantom 350 Fanless PSU $145 with shipping!

This is the lowest price I can find! I found this purely by accident. I'm trying to build a HTPC and I need a quite PSU. Antec is the first brand that came to my mind. I did some shopping on this site before and their shipping is fast, so I came to their site again to find a Antec PSU. And guess what I found? Antec Phantom 350 for $145 including shipping!

If you are building a HTPC like me, Phantom 350 is a good choice!

What's wrong with chiefvalue? If the deal is really hot, why it shouldn't be chiefvalue? I shopped there many times and it is good to deal with!

What's wrong with your guys?:disgust:

i got this power supply 3 weeks ago, for the first 3 weeks it was great, now it shuts off after a few minutes of being on.. Looks like I got a bad one, it's going back... I would like one that worked though..

Really? What is your rig? This PSU only got 350W. If you give it too much load, it may protect itself for over temp. I may got mine tomorrow. lol.

Gee, by that logic, I would assume that Jokersmoker must work for Outpost.com. He posts so many deals from Outpost so he must work there.

Why don't you try this: First find proof that he is working for them in some way, then post your evidence to the thread and send a message to the mods.

richardzhang, creating and making your user info availble to everyone will add credibility to your posts.

Having quickly looked around, this is the cheapest price by about $10.

"only" 350 watt? it would probably power 90% of the systems on here just fine.

regardless, I have a 3000 a64, wd 36gb raptor, nec dvd-rw, radeon 9800 pro.

It would probably expensive to make a fanless high powered psu. 350W is the lowest I'd ever go for any psu in a regular comp. I think for a HTPC 350W would be good though.

Wouldn't fanless be a BAD idea for an HTPC? Only because you won't have many fans at all in a HTPC, so you will want the PSU kicking some heat out and helping with the cooling? Especially confined in an entertainment center type environment.

I could see getting a "quiet" PSU, but fanless?

Edit: does seem like a good deal on this PSU however.

No offense, but with dead silent thermal controlled fans on PSU's like the 350watt fortron hi-q for $25-35... this isn't a hot deal.

I agree that a quality 350w should power most rigs out there. I have a 350w antec powering an A64 2800+ @ 3100+, 2 hard drives, 2 cd drives, an fx5800 and a couple of fans with no problems.

I've actually been watching the phantom (didn't that sound dramatic) because of the good reviews it got over at SilentPCReview.com. They said it's efficiency was "Higher than any other PSU tested by SPCR -- by no small margin."

Up to now, the lowest price I've found is at Ajump.com. Ajump has a reseller rating of 8.66. They charge $153, but it's free shipping.

Looking at Chief Value's rating at RR, it's 9.13, but they have less than a fourth of the total number of reviews than AJump. Hmmmm.... tempting.

Well, I've been able to hear every "silent" fan I've ever come across. Fans can be quiet, but no fans will be quieter.

A hot deal is a hot deal! I don't wanna waste my time to prove something. If you got something hotter, just post here. All we are doing here is to find some hot deals. Right?🙁

Actually this 350W PSU outperforms even some of Antec's 400W PSU's due to its extremely high efficiency rating if I'm not mistaken. I remember looking at these thinking I couldn't believe the efficiency was really that high.

Just a thought.

You have to be crazy if you think forton PSU are "dead-silent". i dont even consider mine quiet. If you can hear it from a meter away it is not "dead-silent"

I've been using this PSU for over a month and it is seriously sweet! Powers my box 24/7 like a champ.

Lowest froogle price right now is around $140 i think. I bought mine for about $165 shipped, so it seems like quite a deal. Highly recommended PSU.

I was thinking of this PSU as well because I have moved from a power hungry machine to a silent machine now.

However I am just scared to have a silent psu... maybe just me.

I like some air flow, even if it is a little

I have to admit, it is quite intimidating running fanless. My entire system only has 3 fans including the CPU, and it draws tons of power. Most of the time, those fans aren't even moving much, so the airflow is pretty stifling. Thankfully, everything has been running incredibly smoothly. Hence, the strong recommendation.

I guess only time can determine if this PSU is reliable or not. According to the specs though, it can operate up to 65C which certainly makes it sound durable.

i remember seeing a review of several power supplies, including the silent one. the cpu fan was thermally controlled, and because of a reduction in cooling, the system ran quieter with a 120mm fan psu than the fanless psu.
