Retail 9800 Pro $299 @ BB

Saw it in today's paper, thought it stood out. Also mentioned was that Half-Life 2 is expected this holiday season 🙂... It's $399-50 MIR-50 Instant savings, btw.

Pretty good since an oem version is about $305 at newegg, even if you have to mess with a rebate. And I thought hl2 was still delayed till next year...😕

I heard that report was bogus.

What location in the US? Just curious, didn't see anything listed in my Saturday paper...and it doesn't reflect a $50 MIR online.

This would be hot to PM to CC!!!

Hmmm, I dunno, now that I have checked online, there is no MIR to be found...But I saw it in today's paper, Rockland Journal News (SE NY). It says, and I quote, "Radeon TM 9800 Pro 128MB DDR AGP Graphics Card (100-435002) 5379798...299.99 After Instant Savings & Mail-In Rebates." And, "Expected release date of Half-Life 2 is this holiday season and is subject to change." I guess just keep an eye out...

HL2 is delayed til next year, think april, b/c some hackers got their source codes

meanwhile they say the HL2 voucher that is included with the pro/XT cards will also fetch you the original HL with all the expansions as well through steam

gg hackers. i consider this saving me an investment to get a 9800 from a GF3 in order to play it...

Is it a sale or a special offer? To get around "bait and switch" sometimes Best Buy puts out great prices, calls them "special offers" with a little asterisk at the bottom that says "quantity limited" and sends out 1 or 2 per store. I haven't really noticed this in a few years, but I drove an hour a couple of times to have them "sold out" already with no rain checks offered on a few really good deals.

Why is that? Last time I looked, CC don't PM rebates. So you only would get the 10% difference between their cost, and BB cost, which is not $50.

Hmmm. Maybe YOUR CC doesn't PM rebates, I've never had any problems whatsoever...Lucky Me! So, In my case, it would be an additional $5.00 off, with no rebate hassle. TAAADAAA!

If your CC PMs rebates, your one lucky SOB! Last time I talked to the manager, they said "No, CC will ever do this.".

Before you pricematch to CC, you should read this. So make you open it after you pay for it and in front of the sale guy. Also look at the memory chips to see if it is really new.

Nah, they don't bait and switch, I just buy the product the day before you get there bud.
😉 It's called guaranteed sale merchandise, learn to use it and love it like most of the hot deals forum members.

Nice post too!

I'd say try another CC. The last thing I PM'd an after rebate price to was the Western Digital 250 GB drive against Frys price. They looked at their AR price, and Frys AR price, then made up the difference.

I've got to make a trip up there to do a return today, so I'm tempted to go ahead and do it...HOWEVER...

IMHO, the thing to do with this if you're going to try for a PM somewhere else, or even if your not and just want to buy it from BB...wait until the middle or end of the week. Why you say?? Smart money would say to make sure that Black Friday falls within your 30 day PM/Return period, because I'd bet even money that the price on these cards (or something similiar) will be significantly reduced in some shape or form for Black Friday...if you buy it now, you're hosed- as you'd be outside of the 30 days!!!

Also, this is listed in the BB flyer for this week. Saw it in the paper this morning...so you've got it in print for the AR price!
