Shameless bump to show my DC support.

BTW, Now I've seen Tennis 2K2 at Target for $14.90. I didn't scan it, but that's what the price said. Also, they have NFL 2K2 at 20.99 down from 27.99

<< Yeah, Target still has some decent games on clearance. I wiped out most of my metro area Targets inventories and dumped the games on eBay for >$5 profit each >>

My local Targets have been cleaned out of Dreamcast stuff since before Christmas. The only places that carry items now are the GameStops and Electronic Boutiques...and eBay/half.com, of course.

Honestly, I would have bought them all and sold them at cost on Anand, but I'm unemployed right now and need the income. ;)

Anybody have any luck with deals on DC games at K-Mart?

My local K-Mart has all the remaining DC games (about 30) in a tupperware container above the accessories section of games. A few games had different prices, but it was late and I couldn't find someone to check the prices on them (the only cashiers were at the front and busy).

Also, my local Radio Shack had a couple controllers for DC on clearance, one said $6, the other $7, so I'm guessing around $5 is the actual price (since these were both the same controller, each with a different clearance banner). I think it was a Quantum Fighter Pad. I've got enough controllers for the time being, so I didn't check on the price...

<< Anybody have any luck with deals on DC games at K-Mart? >>

My local K-Mart never carried Dreamcast items (it's a "Big K" if that means anything) from the beginning so no deals here. I vageuly recall K-Mart being the one major chain retailer that didn't sign on to sell Dreamcast things, but if yours is selling old games, I guess I'm wrong.

And I stopped by my CompUSA today and there were a *few* items that magically appeared in the clearance bins, months after the shelves were cleared.. Nothing earth shattering but there was:

Samba de Amigo - $20
DC controller - $8
Nyko AV cables - $3
Sega RF adapter - $10 (I think this one was a little high, but what do I know?)

YMMV but maybe there's some inventory going on and found things that slipped through the cracks?

Anyone have experience with Electronic Boutique's return policy? I bought one of those Gameshark 8x memory cards in Orlando about 10 days ago. Well, the thing doesn't work, and I live 2 hours away in Gainesville. There is a closer one, about 30 minutes away, in Ocala. I know I could call the store, but I'm tired, and don't want to do any additional talking than is absolutely necessary. So, 1) Will a different store take back this item?, and 2) Since it is defective, will I get my money back, and not some silly store credit.

As stated above, I like the MadCatz controller much better than the official Sega controller. I was able to find a used one for $8 at my local funcoland.

Over in Gainesville, there is a shop that is owned by the owers of Electronics Boutique (Its not Rhino). I forget the name of it though. Most likely, if you got it on a clearance rack, you won't get your money back. If not, 50% chance you'll only get store credit. I went to one of the video game shops in Gainesville and they proudly told me that they guarantee that everything they sell is quality. "Or your money back?" I asked. "No, for store credit". Gee, thanks....

Seems like good timing for a Hockey game with the Olympics and all. Too bad it's $40 for a game on a console you can no longer buy.

Wow.. I can't believe that I was the last one who posted.

Anyway.. I hit the local Funcoland this evening and it has been renamed Gamestop. Although, the "e" was not working and it just said Gamstop. I thought it was a shop full of magazines featuring woman's legs for the older crowd.

Okay.. Okay.. You can stop laughing already. Heh.. Got a question about the Madcatz controller. I saw a few on the rack and they didn't look all that impressive. All they have left if colored ones and I sort of wish I could get a beige/gray one like the standard controller. I'm sure that doesn't effect the performance much. Does it? Are these colored ones any different than the standard colored controllers?

Also, I noticed that it appears to have only one slot unlike the other controllers. I'm guessing VMU, but no shock pack or whatever you call those vibrating things?

Lemme know on the Madcatz controller if you would..

TIA,

Sal

Hmmmm... My MadCatz has 2 slots, just like the Sega controller. It also has those nice rubber grips and a bit of a wider handle pattern. I like it much more than the Sega controller.

I was @ Babbages today & saw the MadCatz controller, $14.99 same price I paid @ BB for the regular Dreamcast controller.

I'm taking the one from BB back tomorrow. :)

Gamestop/Babbages in my area has it for $12.99. I'd take in a print out of the controller from Gamestop's site and tell the manager that they aren't only cheaper online, but they are $12.99 at their stores in Illinois.

What threw me on the controller was the color. This is what I had in my mind when I went to the store this evening..

I could've swore that I only saw one slot for the VMU, but the package didn't allow me to see it that well.

BTW.. What color is preferrable? Heh.. I saw a blue, purple, red (with blue rubber parts), black with blue rubber parts and some sick lime green. I want beige and blue though.. :(

Just stopped by the Local Software ETC they had some cheap interact black DC controllers with built in rumble for 7.99 picked em up. Not bad controls, trigger buttons are a little cheap, but they work. Also, picked up a Niki? VGA box, all I can say is damn did i have to ram the A/V cord into in the DC. Hope I don't have to remove it anytime soon.....

Another note, they have force feedback steering wheels for 19.99? Should I pick them up? I think they are interact brand.....?

I recommend the Mad Catz MC2 steering wheel. I bought one a few weeks ago at Funcoland for $29.99 and I saw earlier today that EBX has lowered their price to $29.99 as well. Mad Catz earlier steering wheel is ten dollars less but not nearly as nice.

I'd have to second the MC2 wheel. Actually, I did.. I bought 2. ;) Anyway.. This is my favorite wheel other than my Logitech Momo wheel. I don't think I would pick the cheaper Logitech wheels over the MC2 even if they were available for the Dreamcast. What I love is the provision to set the wheel on your lap and play while you're on the sofa. I have the Thrustmaster Ferrari wheel also and I haven't used it yet because I haven't found a suitable platform to set it on in front of the tv.
