Crazy Taxi 2 is back to 19.99 at KBToys, looks like it was a pricing error, guess some clown accidently switched both Crazy Taxi 1 & 2 to 9.99 instead of 19.99 :p

Thanks to everyone who tried to help me find a Dreamcast.

It seems that there are no new consoles left anywhere on the net for less than $150. There are a few used ones for $70 and up. I bought the CompUSA demo model, but unfortunately it doesn't work. I still definitely want a Dreamcast, though.

Good deals:
CompUSA - many Dreamcast items are marked down to $5, but the price tags are still higher. If you see something you like, ask for a price check. You may be suprised.

Best Buy - $15 new controllers, $10 VMUs, and some other cool cheap stuff. Check them out. Some of their prices are also lower than marked.

Circuit City - was having a $35 DC blowout, but the consoles dissappeared REALLY quickly. Too bad. They still have some cheap accessories.

I went to Funcoland.com (thanks to whoever suggested that), but they don't have the Dreamcast Console. They have some really cheap accessories, though.

Anyone know where I can get one?

Thanks for the link to that other thread... I missed it and have been frantically searching for a cheap console for my nephew. I made the mistake of bringing my DC over to his house during Christmas and told him I got it for $50 and now he wants one. I had already told him I could get him one and until I saw your post I was cringing thinking about how I'd have to break the news to him that he'd have to cough up at least $70.

Sounds like these things have already appreciated in value!! I'm so glad I got in on this. Thanks again TallGeese and everyone else for your helpful posts!

Thanks, FSUpaintball. I'll check BB on Wed to see if they have any. Keep trying Funcoland for that DC. When I went there last Saturday the DC I bought they recieved on Friday. It was just pure luck that I walked in and they had it. The sales guy said that people call in all the time checking to see if they have any. So keep checking. Good luck.

I just picked up a brand new dreamcast (last one at my best buy), a vmu, crazy taxi, and test drive 6 for 86.56. the dreamcast was 49.99, the vmu and the two games were 9.99 each. i'll pm you the bill once i get the scanner set up.

the stupid salesman told me that there were absolutely no dreamcast systems left. i was going to the exit dejected, when i noticed a big box on the bottom rack of x-box games that had the dreamcast logo on it.... lo and behold, the last dreamcast at the best buy in south austin. they had put it along with the x-boxes and claimed they were out... dumbasses... anyway, i grabbed it.

that right there, RIGHT THERE, is is the #1 reason i tell people NOT TO CALL STORES! the salesman probably didn't want to mislead anyone or anything, he was just so stupid!
really glad that it worked out :) those are the best kind of deals

jcpenney.com has NFL2k2 for $19.99, Sonic Adventure 2 for $26.99, Sega branded VMUs and Controllers for 12.99 and 9.99 respectively.

Plus theres a free shipping coupon out there. Too bad the $10 off $50 coupon wont work on video games :(

tallgeese - You never cease to amaze me. I was looking at the thread last night and saw NCAA 2k2 for 19.99. I thought it was a misprint. I couldn't find it online to confirm, so I braved the stores. They had it marked at 39.99, but when I had it rang up, came to 19.99. Definitely a HOT DEAL! You are the man!!! NFL2k1 and NBA2k1 are also both ringing up at 9.99 for everyone else too at BB. What about Tennis 2k2? I noticed your price, but in my glee and joy today at BB, I didn't think to check the price. Is that 29.99 the best price still?, or is that ringing up crazy too? Keep up the hot deals, your thread is very appreciated!



On a side note, can someone post the link to NCAA on the bestbuy website, I must be losing my mind. I couldn't find it earlier. Thanks!

WHOA! Are you sure? How can they still afford to make DCs from Japan after producing so many from China? It sounds kinda funny :shrug:

I thought that all Made in Japan DCs were only for Japan
and the ones for the states were Made in China.

Ha! I resemble that remark. ;)

I had a F355 fest with my soon to be bro-in-law yesterday. This is the first time that I've gotten a chance to really "dig in" with the DC. This game is tough! After 4 broken pads on my pedals (can't believe that anybody else doesn't have the same problem), I finally managed 2nd (almost 1st) on the Suzuka (I love that track) course with the MC2 wheel set to novice (I did the shifting and braking.. Heh). I also managed to unlock some of the extra tracks (necessitated breaking out a VMU, finally), including Laguna Seca, Nurburgring (the new one) and the Ferrari test track (can't remember the name, starts with an "F").

With this game, I see no need to open up or even keep the other racing games that I have because this one is going to keep me plenty busy for a while. ;)
