<< Just picked up a racing wheel. Nice post thanks! Can't beat 8.99 for overnight shipping!

Phatty: Where did you pick up the wheel? Cheapest I could find for a racing wheel was $24.99?
>>

just to clairify, I think he meant that the SHIPPING was $8.99, not the wheel.

BTW-- The Madcatz wheen and pedals are $29.99 at Babbages.

Oh....lord. I just got a bundle one from TRU............and now I just need to hunt for a great price on Soul Calibur.

It's $29 everywhere....arh....any idea? thanks.

Euros use PAL (and not NTSC) you need to convert it somehow to play on a US device.

I dunno. My kids have downloaded many PAL games and they play fine on the US DC. Not sure why.

<< MillionaireNextDoor just reported that DC Crazy taxi and Virtua tennis will be $10 each at BB 12/2. >>

These were 9.99 at BB yesterday...along with many others.

European DC games are switchable between 50 and 60 Hz, that's why.

Finally got my DC from Amazon today, which is awesome since I just twisted my ankle snowboarding.

I bought it on 11/21, and it was made in May 2000 🙂, so I gotta get Bleemcast w/ Gran Turismo 2!

On a brighter note, ebgames.com has preowned (aka used) games starting at 4.99. I haven't heard of many of the titles, but I'm a DC newbie too. Half.com has some lukewarm deals as well.

Off to try some Crazy Taxi..

edit: Another 10 for you, TallGeese! Thanks for all the constant updating, I have to find something like that Universal system connector to switch between all these AV cables.

Also, the CompUSA coupon link changed, did anyone make a pdf of the old page w/ the coupon?

edit 2: Found a MadCatz System Selector (search for 'system selector') at ebgames.com for 12.99. Also switch between 4 consoles. Buy it w/ Bleemcast!... Shipping w/ GT2 @ system selector was only 4.99 for 2-day Air.

I can wait until Bleemcast for gt2 arrives. I'm shocked to see people paying as much as $13 or maybe more for this at ebay.

Anybody find Sega Gt for a good price? I assume it should be under $19 since they were giving it away with Dreamcast consoles at BB last week. I found it for $19.95 at www.dragon.ca/dreamcast/driving/segagt.htm.

Still looking for good (cheap) racing games to rival GT2.

Hey, just a question. If we get a Bleemcast for GT2 or Tekken 3, will it be able to play any version of the PS game? I have a burned copy of a japanese GT2 (dont ask how i got it) and a burned copy of Tekken 3. Will it be all good to use these with bleemcast?

The description of bleemcast says that it can play any version of the game. Of course I haven't played it yet nor do I have a Japanese version of it or a copied version. Good luck 🙂

Then why can't you just buy a Euro Shenmue II and play it in a US Dreamcast?

BB was selling it individually for $7.99 during the Fri-Sat sale. I venture that the regular price now is $9.99.

WOW!:Q Look at some of the cool Dreamcast accessories at Hong Kong Toys

They have what you need to play PAL discs on US Dreamcasts: DC-X. I've actually seen DC-X at EB in the mall, too, so maybe I'll look there first. Some UK gamer is selling 100 copies of Shenmue II on eBay now for $40 each. Even though getting both items is a ~$75 expense, it's MUCH cheaper than buying an X-Box, which the exclusive US platform for Shenmue II.

Utopia allows you to play PAL discs on US consoles? Didn't know that. I already have a Utopia boot disc, even though all my games are originals...wanted to have it because allegedly it could get pulled.

Well, I don't think the DC-X would do anything different than Utopia. Utopia is not only for backups, it also allows you to play imports. If Shenmue II is 60 Hz selectable, you should be able to play it on a US DC fine. Don't hold me to those words, though. All the PAL games I've played on US machines were of the backup variety, so I can't confirm it myself. Why not just get the Echelon version?

First off, Shenmue II features a 50/60Hz selector. How do I know? Because I'm sitting here with a shiny new import just beginning to start the adventure. 😀

Secondly, the hell with Echelon's rip. Not only is it ridiculous to have to save your game and shut down the DC to swap discs, but you lose all the audio, enjoy lackadaisical FMV (it is all downsampled severely), and you don't get that nice feeling of owning the last major for the DC. 😀

Rips suck, not only because the visual/aureal quality is often mediocre at best (due to stereo being converted to mono, and the FMVs being downsampled horrendously to fit on the CD-R), but often times they miss various protection schemes in the game. They also load slower and, whether you believe it or not, make your GD-ROM work harder. The games are so cheap now, I can't believe people are still wasting their time downloading and burning images. I'd much rather buy 'em, but then, I bought them at $49.99 as well. Piracy sealed the fate of Dreamcast. Bastards 😀

You CAN!. Sorry, just tired of answering the same question a thousand times 🙂 Shenmue II (Europe) features a 50/60Hz selector, like most European titles. The JAP import, of course, is NTSC.

EDIT: Anotherwards, don't be stupid and spend $60+ on eGay for a so-called "special version" that plays on NTSC Dreamcasts. It's the same title you can import for $45-$50 at several reputable dealers. Damn eGay 🙁

Shenmue II on X-Box will be a disaster. Of course, Mickeysoft just -might- find some decent voice actors with their deep pockets. But I wouldn't hold my breath. Yo Suzuki's finest is meant to be Japanese. I don't even particularly care for the subs 🙂

Guess I'm gonna be bidding on that dutch auction on eBay with the 100 copies of Shenmue II! $50 shipped (2-4 day air) sounds like a good deal, too, and the seller takes billpoint/paypal. None of this expensive bidpay or slow international MO crappola.

Pabster, where did you get your copy?
