Resurrect my old Zalman 7000B?

I have an old Zalman CNPS 7000B and I was pleasantly surprised to see there's a clip for mounting it to a S775 board. I was wondering if this would provide better cooling than the stock HSF on the E8400 as well as the Q9550 (I assume their stock coolers are equivalent, if not identical, yeah?).

Would it be worth stepping up to the Zalman 9500A if I want to try my hand at o/c'ing either of those chips? If so, how does the XIGMATEK Dark Knight stack up?

Thanks.

that xigmatek is the better of the three.

People malign the Zalman 9500, but its not a bad cooler.

I have one cooling a Q9550 clocked to 3910 and it does perfectly fine.

It is loud though.

7000B is better than stock and worth buying the 775 conversion kit if you want to save some money and keep it at stock speeds.

9500 is not worth spending the money on if you plan on overclocking. They're still way overpriced.

Haven't had any experience with the Dark Knight but I hear good things about it.
