resume question

Hi guys,

The last time I touched my resume was in 2002 when I was passing it around to companies around graduation from college. I've been at the same company since May 2002 as a developer.

A recent position in the same company opened up that may be more to my liking (Sys Admin). How do I update my resume for this? I imagine removing anything related to high school. Or past old jobs. But then all I would have is my college information under Education and then my Programming/System Analyst under Employment.

Am I missing something? Do you have an example?

You could give it a snappy objective if you want as well.

But in the end its up to you. You basically have it covered.

I would make sure it's 2 pages maximum - may be worth keeping past jobs if they have any relevance at all.

I remove anything related to high school except for one line that tells what high school I went to and my GPA.
Unless you have a very applicable experience from that time, I wouldn't put too much from high school on there.

on my resume, I have nothing before college. I think high school is pretty much irrelevant at this point, unless you did something major, like start your own business, etc.

Also, most people abide to a 1 page max. My resume is 2 pages, but I do a ton of stuff outside of work (volunteering, etc.) so I end up on 2. I would be very cautious with anything that puts it over 1 page- it has to be really great.

make sense?
