resume question

I'm updating my resume for an engineering management job. Is there any point in putting my college GPA down, considering I've been out of school for almost 10 years? Instead I'm thinking about listing "Bachelor of Science (cum Laude) in Mechanical Engineering", does that look stupid? I don't know if I'm pleased with having the word "cum" on my resume

yes, it would look stupid. but you can still say cum laude after your degree, if it's appropriate.

GPA being important has yet to be a factor in the search for my first job.

What's your field and school?

At my previous employer I had to slog through piles of resumes the couple of times when we were hiring programmers / developers, and since most of the applicants had no experience GPA was one of the main things I looked at.

For someone with no real work experience, I looked at the degree (BS > BA > AS), anything they listed about classes, class projects, internships, part-time work, and GPA both overall and major. Other people involved with hiring technical people have said the same thing in earlier resume threads, so I know it's not just me.

Of once you have work experience, college becomes almost a footnote.

Wow, since you think it works that way for you, then it must work that way for everyone!

A resume is different than a resumé. That's what my english teacher told me.

Oh, and I wouldn't put my gpa down either; doesn't really need to be there.

according to M-W online either is acceptable and my way is easier to type.
