depends on how much info you're trying to squeeze on your page. i would go with 12 pt. with slightly larger for your name

I have always been partial to Bookman Oldstyle. Somewhat close to Timew New Roman, but just different enough.

Heh, that's actually what I used.

Go for a typeface that takes up average space for its point size, and that has serifs. You know, something that looks like Times New Roman.

serifs are important in fonts because they increase readability... so make sure you use something with serifs!

tahoma, size 10, bold for different section titles, size 12 for name and email on top, bold for anything else that i NEED to emphasize

To elaborate on what iotone said... for blocks of text, serif fonts (times new roman, I personally use Georgia) are generally easier to read than sans-serif fonts (verdana, tahoma) but the sans-serif fonts are fine for headings

never use more than two fonts

Time New Roman works fine. Just avoid anything that looks funky unless you are applying for a job that requires a lot of creativity.
