Question - If you went to a specialized high school, for example, Bronx High School of Science in NYC, would you include that on your resume?

Quick summary - Me and a Friend are having a debate on whether High School should go on a working professional's resume (2+ years out of college).

So if you are targeting jobs in NYC, would you add your specialized high school to your resume or is it "an error on the resume".
 
Uh, well, I went to a specialized high school (TEH FARMZOR!), didn't go anywhere near that part of the building, and wouldn't be caught dead putting it on my resume once I have teh degree (and even if I don't yet, it's the first damn thing to go if work experience grows any more). Does that count?
 
umm most apps and resume's should include your HS

you people over think things way too much...there are other things that matter during and getting an interview then OMG WHAT DO I PUT FOR HS::~!:!:!:!:!
 
For software development, it's a mistake. You should be describing your college experience not HS.

...except perhaps while you are _in_ college and are trying to get into a a co-op or internship.
 
If you went to Bronx Science, Stuyvesant, Hunter, Brooklyn Tech, etc. and you're looking for a job in NYC, it's worth sticking it on your resume. If nothing else, it could be one more thing an interviewer and yourself could talk about. You'd be surprised at how many alumni of these schools there are out there in the NYC workforce.

Well yeah... I mean both of us work, but a recruiter saw my high school on my resume and in his email to me he said "P.S - I just noticed you are a Bx Science Alum as well~!! So am I, graduated in 94". When I mentioned this to my friend he went off on me for having my high school on my resume.
