Yeah my system sucks, but Shuttle AK31 3.1, Athlon 1600xp, 512mb of Corsair pc2400 cl2 ddr and a geforce 3 ti200 are on the list for next month's upgrade, anyways

this is what i'm working with...

Asus P2B w/ newest beta bios
640mb of PC133 SDRAM
500mhz PIII processor
Voodoo3 3000 AGP w/ "god's" driverset that offers GL/d3d support in WindowsXP - am I using the best possible driverset?
PCI highpoint udma66 controller mated to a 20gb udma4 drive
your various assortment of irrelevant hardware

It's running 559mhz stable (112x5), video card at 200/200, Windows XP retail and the few games I do play run pretty well (kingpin and quake3) and i'm getting a 3dmark 2001 score of 1087 running the default mode (it sets it to 1024x768x16 for my video card) also omitting a few of the tests my hardware "doesn't support", question is, is that tolerable to play newer games even? Seems to me without a Geforce3 3dmark2001 is VERY hard to get a good score from

Also, those of you familiar with these older slotted Pentium III's, is 560 pretty much my limit with it (I tried 133*5 and it didn't post), possible to unlock the multiplier? Could I install a 600mhz 133fsb p3(i forget the suffix, eb e b whatever) in a slocket and it would work on this board (133*4.5)?

I'm only asking this stuff cause when I buy the shuttle and the rest of the stuff i'm kinda leaning to just build a 2nd system but meanwhile i'd like to spice this one up a tad

thanks in advance

P.S., I sent my Visiontek Geforce2MX in for RMA, never even got to use it, either bad memory or bad trace somewhere on the card, how badly does it whoop the voodoo3 3000 and think I could sustain the 220/210 overclock with a 486 HSF attached to it?

You cannot unlock the multiplier of an Intel processor.

You can extend the life of your system quite a bit by upgrading to a higher speed Pentium III or Celeron, up to 1.1GHz. Do a search for my posts regarding the P2B and how to do it. If you can't find them, or still have problems with how to do it, let me know.
