I was dumb and went messing with my registry in Win2k, and now it's really messed up. At first my computer would crash 2 seconds after booting into windows, but i was able to fix that problem by running the emergency rescue util on the CD. Now, I am getting all kinds of errors from progams about missing registry params. The drivers for my soundcard are completely currupted, and it only gives me errors when I attemp to reinstall them.
The good news is that before I went and messed with the registry I made a backup of it. The problem is that it wont let me load the backup for some reason. It gives some kind of access denied error. What is the problem? There must be some way to load the backup and fix all of these problems. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
