Ok i'm in need of info on how to get my VMM32.VXD file back out of the recycle bin in DOS.

i was removing some TV Tuner files for reinstall and deleted the VMM32.VXD on accident.
all files i removed are still in the recycle bin.

i can get into the recycle bin from DOS,but need to know how to restore this file. (or all files is fine)

the files are showing up as DC0. DC1. etc etc.
beside DC1 it says VXD,so i believe that is the file i need.
but i have no idea how to get it back to its original file name and folder.

i tried to copy the dc1.vxd to the windows\system,but that didn't help.
also tried to extract another copy of VMM32.VXD from win98 CD,but then got alot of other errors on boot to do with the VMM32.VXD\mouse etc etc.

if anyone can give me help with this i'd appreciate it.
even if i need to restore the whole recycle bin thats fine.
only about 7 files in there.

Thanks for any help.

Got it fixed.

incase anyone else has this problem, here was the fix:

boot into DOS,at c: prompt type CD RECYCLED

that will bring up the Recycle Bin.
type DIR and it will bring up info similiar to this:

DC0.INF
DC1.VXD
DC2.mp3
etc etc. (the file extension depends on what type of file you deleted)
DOS won't show the exact name of the file, just the file Extension.

also if you wanna view the exact file names of the files, type /A and it will show a hidden file called INFO or INFO2.use the edit command to bring that info file up and it will show the files in the Recycle Bin.

then to restore the file, copy it to a folder from the Recycle Bin... then rename it back to its original file name, and copy it to the correct folder.
