I have a problem. My OS (Win2K) crashed and I had to reinstall. The problem is that I had Outlook installed which was connected to an Exchange Server for work. I had alot of important emails there that were saved. Since I reinstalled Windows, I had to reinstall Office as well. Now I want to restore those emails and email settings for Outlook but I don't know how. Can someone help? All of the data including the installed folders are still intact from my previous installation. So meaning, I can access my Outlook directory from my previous installation. Is there a way for me to get back my configurations? I really need to because I don't remember the settings. More importantly I need to get back the email messages that were saved. Please help. Thanks.

I would have setup the outlook client under tools to deliver mail to your Exchange mailbox so you don't lose anything when your PC dies. If you were keeping mail locally on your PC, you aren't using Exchange to it's best capabilities. Do a search on your local HDD for .PST files or just search for *.pst and you'll probably see 2 of them. One is the original you had before that contains your email and contacts/calendar, etc. Just click File-Import-From File - PST File (or personal folders) and import the older, larger file and you should be set.
