Restoring Autoplay controls.

I once disabled AutoPlay through gpedit by mistake and I now reactivated it but I no longer have the autoplay configuration tab for my drive properties. Anybody know how I can fix this and force the Atoplay tab or have some other way to configure autoplay and autorun settings.

Thanks

can only suggest you check in your registry settings. from memory, open up RegEdit and go to:

HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE :: SYSTEM :: ControlSet001 :: Services :: Cdrom (or a very similiar path)

Change Autorun to 1 from 0.

Go to "Start/All Programs/Administrative Tools/Services", check to make sure that the "Shell Hardware Detection" service is running. I had set this service to "manual/stopped)", and had lost the "autoplay" tab. Start the service, or better yet, put it on "automatic" and reboot, the tab should return.
AFAIK, although you can set the autoplay value to "1(on)" in the registry, you still won't have the tab unless the above service is running.
