Nevermind that to get these comes with the Ultimate Price...them coming to your table and publicly humiliating you with the off-key singing, and clapping and the shouting and hurting my ears and pride...
Yeah, true enough. I hated it when I was a kid and my Mom would get them to sing to me. The only time when it was fun was at the Red Lobster in Lansing, MI. The table next to us had someone with a birthday and the staff, led by this big black dude, came out with this huge posse and started rapping. It was so funny I wanted to lie and tell them it was my birthday just to hear it again. They were clapping and dancing and really getting into it. Very funny.
As for freebies at Red Lobster the only thing we every got was a small cake for free.

Chi-chi's used to give out big-ass mexican ice cream things for free, if you said it was your birthday. They probably still do, and it's definitely worth the singing/clapping.

Chevy's does the public humiliation thing too... in return for some ice cream and a hat. They also don't check IDs so it's good for randomly embarrassing someone whenever you feel like it :)

Since today is my birthday (wee!) I guess I'll have to hit up as many free places as I can get to (and of course order take out) and I'll have free food for a week. Only one where you can't do that and bring the food home and get your money's worth is definitely Todai. ~!~!

I have a friend who used to say it was her birthday at every place she ate. Eventually, someone carded her. Funny thing is that they still gave her free stuff. The life of a hot girl . . .

I have another one thats not birthday related but just as good for those of you up for the everyday freebie. Costco Has free samples everyday, I work there and I get the hook up from the distributers when I'm on break. Believe me if you go in on Saturday or Sunday and walk around for about 15 minutes collecting samples its like having a whole meal. This is truely worth the freebieness. BTW I think its time to update the top posting with all these new additions, so people dont have to search this whole long page.

I was so busy on my birthday Saturday that I didn't get a chance to go look for free food! :-( Have to save it for next year!

And to those of you just turning 20, LUCKY DOG. Enjoy it. I just turned 30 and it sucks!!!

I went to Red Robin for dinner. "Buy one burger or entree, receive a burger of your choice free."

They offered to sing Happy Birthday, to which I replied......"refill my Ice Tea (it's from long island), and you can." I figured they wouldn't......but they all came over singing very loudly with a fresh drink.... ack!

:)

Brewmasters (Kenosha, WI) gives a free meal including an in-house brew (beer or root beer) up to $20 for birthdays. Excellent place to eat, even if its not your b-day.

Yeah, this one will apply to a very limited crowd.

Olive Garden has given us free dessert for birthdays. Usually a sundea.
