Restart Problem - how to fix?

I just built a computer using a FIC AD11, with approved memory, video, etc., per
AMD. Works great, except it will not boot from a soft restart
(<CTRL><ALT><DEL> or from Windows via Start->Run->Restart. It goes into
what resembles a sleep mode, but if I press the restart button on the case,
then it boots. Obviously, it should just restart on its own.

Any ideas? Thx in advance.

I have done all that, and those do not appear to be the issue. Anyone else have any ideas or experience with this problem? Thx.

I found the answer - there was a conflict with the Netgear FA-312 NIC. Once I removed that card, it works fine. I tried the Netgear in every PCI slot, to no avail. Then I replaced it with a 3Com, and now have no restart problems.

I have the same problem (NG FA312, but with an Epox EP-8K7A). Do you have your WOL cable connected? I don't. Does the VIA chipset have known issues with NG NICs? I've never read about any before this.

I have this issue, but mine will only happen if I OC any...I was able to rule out ram, PS, sound card, vid card since they all worked fine oc'd 750 to 840 on my old tbird...Until I added a stick of ram and my ata100 maxtor controller. I removed the ram and it still happened...I think that it just doesn't want to oc as I have no visible conflicts...it is in my slot 2 on my Biostar M7VKB ver 1.2...they have been no bios updates to resolve any problems like this...
