Like a game where you play a guy in a robot suit and single handedly destroy this alien threat and another alien threat! It can be way over hyped and have mediocre gameplay!

Oh wait a minute, that has already been done. Sorry.

If these guys actually put out something new and different than "military shooter" I will be surprised. Fresh ideas would be welcomed I think.

Stumbled across this summary article on IGN.

The total number of employees that have left Infinity Ward since March, including West and Zampella who were fired, is now at 13.

I just just hope they develop something other than a war based FPS game. Like we need anymore of those.. Wishful thinking, I know.

Have something in mind?

There is a game based on a road trip, where you drive a car on a road trip, you do it in real time. The trip is about five hours. If you go off road you have to wait for a tow truck to get to you and pull you back.

Arrival is one point, then you turn around and go home, return is one point.

There is also this awesome game I had before on my Mac where you are a bartender and you toss drinks to thirsty patrons until they clobber you because you cannot pour fast enough.

I think that counts as war, because the aliens are kind of declaring war on humanity don't you think?

Also was this reference to HL2 or Crysis?

It was actually a reference to the Halo series.

Although I guess it would be a little silly to have an FPS not centered around some kind of war. A game where you just shoot innocent people doesn't sound like it would be taken very well by the moral majority.

Tell that to Rockstar.

Objection! #1: Activision v. West & Zampella

By Eric Neigher | Apr 13, 2010
Breaking down Infinity Ward's big breakdown.

The videogame industry's a big business -- sometimes, companies don't see eye-to-eye. And what happens when a dispute goes to court, and gamers get their grubby hands on fancy-sounding legal documents? Why, wild, inane, forum-fueled speculation, of course. That's where California-based attorney and GameSpy freelancer Eric Neigher comes in. Objection! is your one-stop destination to learn what all that legalese means in plain English, straight from someone who knows the twisty-turny language of the law.

Cocky Kotick and the Dynamic Duo

Getting fired sucks; so does firing someone. The process is never pretty, and fortunately for those of us who make our living sucking the blood from honest Americans, it sometimes results in extremely contentious lawsuits!

Enter Activision CEO Bobby Kotick and his "take all the fun out of making videogames" approach to personnel management. If you haven't been living under Iraq (see what I did there?) for the past six months, you know Kotick and Co. recently kicked Infinity Ward top-brass Jason West and Vincent Zampella to the curb harder than Ed Norton did that kid in American History X. Accusations have flown, lawsuits have been filed, and a lot of misinformed gamers with their own agendas have tried to tell you what's really going on.

Well, wonder no more, fearless readers, for your friendly neighborhood gamer-lawyer is on the case!
