Resources/Guides/Help for Installing Horde Webmail

I'm trying to install Horde (webmail client) on my DirectAdmin-based hosting account and can't seem to get it to work. I've looked at the docs and the forums over at horde.org, but some of the directions require shell access and, probably, pretty high admin-level access (enough to recompile PHP in some cases). I'm sure my host (DixieSys, FWIW) has the required PHP features, but Horde still isn't cooperating. Here are the messages I get when trying to access the Horde directory:
