RESOLVED... Win XP and Very slow wireless network

I just got a sony vaio desktop running winxp. I hooked up my linksys WUSB11 v2.5, and it set up fine. The signal strength reports as excellent. But, it is painfully slow. When i run a bandwidth meter test, (http://www.2wire.com) it says ~30 kbps. I am on a cable connection, and ifI run that bandwidth meter test on my laptop (which runs win2k), with the same wireless adapter, or a different one, I get 1300 to 1400 kbps...

Any ideas? Does XP just suck? or am i doing something wrong?

well, as bizarre as this sounds, and is.... the problem has fixed itself.

i didnt do a damned thing, but I will take credit for fixing it.

edit: spelling errors (still getting used to the new keyboard)

Did you change any settings? I'm having the same problems with my Dlink 713P on two different cards. 🙁
