I don't know if the problem is the PS or the MOBO.

I turn on power at powerstrip and all is well. I push the pwr button the case and the CD, and HD spin but I get no POST...I get nothing.

If I disconnect the power cable from the back of the case and reinsert it it will boot almost every time. huh?

Any Ideas?

If it's shutting down after about ten seconds, I had the same problem. Seems you have to make sure that there is a fan connected to fan header one on the motherboard. Had me scared for a while. There should be a paper that came in the mb box that tells about this.

One other thing you might want to clear the cmos on the mb. I thought I burned up an eight-hundred (no boot) but, all it took was to rest or clear the cmos.

This might help too...you might want to go into the bios and set a few second delay on the hard drive boot up. Someone else in this forum suggested that for problems people were having that sound similar to what you are seeing. Something about the boot up is so fast it tries to access the drive before it is fully spun up so it just hangs.

You don't need to set a hard drive delaty. I'm running at close to 1100 MHz with RAM nearly fully optimized. If you wish to fix the fan problem, the latest beta driver for the KT7/R, WZ.b01 has a switch to disable the fan/shutdown feature. BTW, the suggestions for resetting the CMOS jumper were right on the mark. There have been several times, right after I built my system, where I was sure that I killed my baby. The CMOS jumper 10-second exercise may save your bacon later on.

Good Luck

Also, try this...

If your HSF is plugged into FAN1, plug it into FAN2 and plug a Case fan into FAN1.

My Taisol fan works fine but for some odd reason, FAN1 didn't like it and I would get 1 sustained error beep and it would shut down after a few seconds... No POST screen, no nothing...
