Well recently bought a 1440 monitor. No problems but when i go to what is my resolution on google it is showing like 1588x888 what is wrong here can someone pls let me know if im doing somthing wrong. When i go to nvidia panel it shows that it is 2560x1440. thank you for your input.

That is due to your text/DPI scaling. For example, on my 1080p projector I have 1.5 text scaling factor (Linux Mint HTPC), so at 1920x1080 my browser shows my screen size as 1280x720.

So just to be sure will this affect gaming and video playback quality?

For the most part, no. For games and video players (eg, Windows Media Player or VLC), there will be no scaling, but for video played within your browser (eg, Youtube) it may be scaled based on your reported browser size. You can disable scaling on your browser by right-clicking the shortcut and go to Properties and enable the Disable display scaling on high DPI settings option, though you'll have tiny fonts again (adjustable in browser settings). If you are using the Youtube HTML5 player you can right click the video and choose Stats for nerds to see the video dimensions.
