Resolution Problem

I have a Biostar TA790GX A2+ and I'm using the onboard graphics (HD 3300). Whenever I connect my monitor (ASUS VK222H) through DVI the resolution is messed up. I have it set to 1680x1050(native). It is showing the full image except it's squished with a black bar on the right portion of the screen. If I go to CCC and check 'reduce DVI frequency' click ok. nothing happens even after reboot. However, when i change mode to 16bit and then back to 32bit it all becomes normal like it's supposed to be. However, once I restart I have the same problem again. Interstingly if I use VGA it all works perfectly. Have not tried HDMI yet as I do not have the cable. Does this sound like a driver problem? I tried 8.10 and the previous and its the same deal.

Is it on 1 to 1? I recall having problems (both stretched and squished horizontally) and it was either GPU scaling, keep aspect ratio or 1 to 1 mapping that threw it off.
Other than those, I don't know of any other settings that could affect the image.
You could try googling a bit if no one else presents a solution here as I'm sure someone else must've had the same problem and posted it somewhere online.
