So I found a link to a sweet picture of the composite image of the world at night here, but the problem is that when I set it as my desktop, it's all stretched out and looks fugly. Center and tile don't work either because I can't see the whole thing. Anyone know how I can sesize the image to the correct ratio so that it looks nice when I set it, or could do it for me if they're bored? I have 1280x1024 resolution if that matters. I know AmusedOne did it for the image of the whole world but I have no idea how. Thanks in advance!

I figured that I'd have to do that much, but I don't know the correct size the picture has to be to look right

1280x1024 will strech out anything thats made for a proper resoltion since its 5:4 and your monitor is 4:3.

jpsj had the right idea. First I resized the width of the pic to 1280, keeping height in the same ratio. Then I made a 1280x1024 blank image. After that I pasted in the pic and filled in the top and bottom.

Also made it a little brighter. image

Hehe, damn M$ telling us we should use 1280x1024. I dunno who started that res, but it's pretty common nowadays. I actually like the way text looks better than I like it at the proper res.

<< Why don't you use a normal resolution like 1280x960? >>

Sorry bro, hate to tell ya thats not normal...only elite peeps like us tap into the hi-res properties of the monitor :)
