Resizing hard drive Windows 7

When I try to shrink my partition on a drive I have about 600 GB free on my primary hard drive but it will only let me shrink the drive 94GB. Why can't I get a larger partition? I wasn't thinking when I installed Windows 7 and have my 750 GB HD partitioned as a basic drive of 698GB.

Have you tried another partition tool like partintion magic (£/$) or EASEUS Partition Master Home Edition (free) I would expect these to have more control.

You would have to use a 3rd party program. a free one that ive used numerous times is gparted. its a bootable cd

Either a good defragmenter tool OO Defrag or a third party partitioning tool gparted or many others. Just back up your data first.
