I just got a new laptop, and it was configured to use large desktop icons. When I returned the icons to normal size, the large spacing remained. Do you know how to get it to normal, small spacing? I'll fill up my desktop rediculously fast like this! Thanks!

Thanks for the tip...but my modifications had zero effect! Any other ideas?

What SeTeS said is correct. The options are Icon Spacing (Vertical) and Icon Spacing (Horizontal). Strangely, it seems to do nothing when using the Windows XP theme.
This is what worked for me:
- Set your grid size and Apply
- Switch to Windows Classic theme and Apply.
- Switch back.

OK, I guess the windows xp theme is the problem. When I switch to classic mode it works great. but when i switch back, it goes bad again? any way to get both xp theme and good spacing or will I have to go classic?
