I have read that after playing through the single player mode once you unlock a few new weapons on subsequent single player games.

Does anyone know if the co-op mode unlocks the weapons too? A buddy of mine and I are about to beat single player storyline in co-op mode and I don't want to have to go back and play the entire game on non-co-op mode to unlock the weapons.
 
It unlocks them after playing through on any mode-

L11-2 Dragon
Splitter
Black lash Grenades
