I had one on base in my bachelor senior enlisted quarters at naval training center, San Diego. Great idea. I miss (double entendre ftw) having a urinal.

Then you would need two toilets, and two sets of pipes and you would still miss and pee on the floor.

Multiple repost.

1) Urinals are quite expensive to buy and install, especially when you have a toilet that does the same job.

2) Urinals are filthy.

3) Urinals stink.

I totally agree. If and when I build my basement out, I am definitely putting a urinal in the bathroom. Not only is a urinal more convenient, but also it will be yet another way I can mark the basement as man territory. :D

A few friends of mine have them installed in their garage so the kids don't have to track crap in the house to go to the bathroom. They all have pools.

Anyways, urinals are more for efficiency (i.e. how can we let 1 people pee faster? Urinal!). Not much point other than as a novelty in a house. There's th eissue of privacy too, which is pretty highly valued at home. Also, they can only do one "job" so why waste the space?

Because if you put it in the garage, then it all makes sense. You have to go #1 more frequently than #2 anyway, so a specialty toilet like a urinal can make sense. They can be pretty gross, but I'd imagine at home you could take care of it. I'd love to have one in my garage.

Exactly, and where am I going to sheet. Why would I want a urinal and a toilet in the same bathroom?

Ok well probably not more square footage in retrospect. Just a lot of work when you can lift a lid or sit down to pee. :p

Sometimes when I pee in the morning it seems like I attached a sprinkler system to the end of me peice. Pee goes EVERYWHERE. A urinal would solve this problem.
