If the whole area hadn’t been a bomb free zone maybe he wouldn’t have bombed where he did. Could you imagine him dropping bombs if he had to worry about other bombs or landmines.

/sarcasm.

If the victims armed themselves, they could have shot all of those bombs before opening them and all would have been saved! Train everyone to just shoot packages before opening them!

Yup it’s what I was saying earlier. He quite literally just wanted to watch the world burn. It happens.

Although I’m sure other will still ascribe their political motives to him.

Maybe like the Vegas guy, the motive might have been for people to speculate about the motive? In our fame and celebrity obsessed culture, can't blame these guys for wanting people to talk about them after they are gone. Be not like the hundreds of millions of obscure people who lead ordinary lives and have ordinary deaths. Posthumous fame. How does it exactly benefit them is not clear at this point of time. Maybe they had an arrangement with the gods that their ghosts would be allowed back in.

We should do what they did in 1984. Make these sacks of shit into unpeople, scrub any hint of their existence from every website, remove their birth certificates from all databases, etc...

Hopefully the New York Times will follow this story up with the valid speculation that the bomber was motivated by alien takeover.

I'm really confused. Heres is this fuckuped guy who is willing to randonly blow people up, who left a 20+ minute admission, sent a bomb to a spa employee who was white, set another in a freaking all white gated community - aaanndd we get this:
He had harmed the two white victims, Mr. Arriaga theorized, “just to throw it off.”
And
Austin has gradually started to become aware and conversant about its race issues over the past five years, so the initial suggestion that these bombings could be race-related made people deeply nervous that the problem could be that bad,” said Cecilia Ballí, a writer and cultural anthropologist who lived in Austin from 2008 to 2014 and who now lives in Houston. “Whether or not the bomber’s motive ends up being race, this brought to the forefront one of the city’s challenges and worst fears.”
Alejandro Caceres, 30, an organizer for Grassroots Leadership, a prison reform and immigrant rights group, who lives and works in East Austin, said he believed the police were dismissing the concerns of black and Hispanic residents that the bombings were, at least in part, racially motivated.

“We’re being told that all of our feelings and our realities are not true, that this person was not targeting black and brown people, that this person was not a terrorist,”

So there is NOTHING pointing to this as a race motive and the black people of that area are mad! If there was a martian with a ray gun shooting people around my house that just happen to be white I would start to worry more if it were only white people he was vaporizing. If I found out it was people who drove Jeep Renegades and MBs I would not try to turn it back to being a white thing. What the fuck. Why not as a group be happy that it wasn't racially motivated and celebrate that and not whine that everyone else isn't finding something that isn't there. My pre is kicking in and I need to get to the gym!

Right? Why are these people mad? They should be celebrating! If only you were there to tell them!

My pre is kicking in and I need to get to the gym!

Sorry to hear that.

Do not be surprised by racism on the Left. They're not all Progressive, not all Right wingers are Christian. Among those who party together there will be great diversity, particularly when each group is roughly half a nation of 320 million people. What should be surprising, is if we do not call the NYT (and others) out on their racism and condemn particular articles and authors that violate expected societal norms.
