Didn't he barely hold on to office?

It was a closer race than an election. I'm not fond of Kulongoski, and voted for a 3rd party candidate each time. He's kind of quiet backroom deal slimy IMO, especially with the SEIU, the biggest government employee union in the state. The irony there is that I really liked his predecessor that he worked for, John Kitzhaber. IMO look for Kitz (and not DeFazio) to pick up the gauntlet and run against Smith in '08.

So will you be going John Kitzhaber or Gordon Smith in the '08 election?

I am annoyed by his false statement.

I may in fact be "extreme" but not for any one particular party.

I rag on corrupt Democrats as well.

It's just that the Republicans are the ones that have held firm control of the Country until this past November and have done the most damage to this Country I have ever seen in my lifetime.

Probably 3rd party in any event. Kitz has gone overboard on his socialized medicine agenda even though his state health plan hasn't worked, and Smith and I had a falling out after he and I exchanged correspondence (or make that, one of his staffers with a rubber stamp resembling his signature and I exchanged correspondence) in which he expressed far too much desire to serve corporate interests like Monsanto and the RIAA.
