Seriously, Aside from the fact that half the game is Load SCREEN. I just can't play through it anymore because it feels like for every white guy I get to shoot, I have to maul through 30 black guys. I don't know why, but this just makes me very uncomfortable.D😀: I think they've really gone too far with the HIGH res Textures, I honestly feel like I'm commiting some sort of atrocity. D😀:

IN any case... this subject has been beaten to death. It's just a game. Far worse stereotypes going on in RPGs that go under the radar in my opinion anyway.
 
WTF this retarded shit was on some gaming websites when the game came out too - Americans are far too queasy for this sort of thing. FFS the game is set in Africa - it's not racism moron. You feel better about slaying white zombies than black zombies?

I think the OP's comments reflect well on him for having the concern, but he should look at the context.

If it's a legitimate 'set in Africa' game, no problem.

Of course it's possible for some hate group to use that as a cover for any kind of hate crap (kill all kinds of black people! Oh it's set in Africa nudge nudge wink wink).

Followed by expansions for 'African Genocide' rape and chldren killiing, and the 'set in the early 20th century lynching' expansion. Hey, it's not the game, it's set in that time period.

Finally, while a legitimate 'set in Africa' game is no problem, it's perfectly ok for someone to not be comfortable with it anyway and choose not to play it. I don't play every game.

The right to put out things doesn't mean they all have to be acceptable to everyone for their entertainmet. I defend idiots' rights to write a book denying the holocaust - and my right to not read it.

In World of Warcraft, ther are quests I won't do because I don't like the ethics of them - things having nothing to do with a RL issue like racism.

For example, a ghost woman wants you to go kill the wife and kids of the guy who killed her husband. Sorry. People can play how they like on this.
 
I'll defer to Yahtzee in this one. RE5 IS racist, but not because you're a white guy killing black people. It's because after 3 levels, the game goes from being a reasonably modern, if zombied, Africa to gibbering tribesman in loincloth with masks and spears.

RE4 was about killing tons of mind controlled Spanish peasants. I don't think its any more or less racist than RE5.

As for RE4...well, it's not like those spanish peasants were running around in Conquistador armor or Flamenco dance outfits.
 
The ones pulling the race card and see racism everywhere are racists themselves. How about you stop seeing everyone as a color of their skin and just see them as people? Who cares if there is too many black skinned people in the game or lack of or whatever, just play the damn game.

On a more serious note, I find it perturbing that you can blast the heads off of purely white guys for so long, but once they turn into black guys it becomes taboo.
 
I find it funny that the OP has no problem killing people but gets worried he's killing people of a certain color? I think he should stop playing PC games now. LOL

For example, the nonhuman elves and dwarves in The Witcher are heavily persecuted by the humans. I think in a lot of cases these types of plots add to the story line while simultaneously showing an example of how ludicrous it all is in a real-life situation. "Being" racist and "showing" racism are two completely different things.
