Never played it on any other console and fired it up tonight after beating Zelda.

Lights were off, surround sound on.

I'll admit it, I had to turn the lights on a bit 😀

This game rocks and I haven't even seen a zombie yet.

I'm on the final chapter of the game and am really liking it. But you'll be waiting awhile to see a zombie, because there aren't any. Just crazed villagers and other assorted bizarre bad guys.

Great game, but not scary at all.

Not scary, but eerie. I agree, I've had it for the gamecube for some time now, but I grabbed the wii edition as soon as it came out. Its a freakin awesome game. And the range of movement makes it the BEST resident evil yet. Even if you didnt like the old ones, give the new one a try, I think you will like it

I have this game on the GC so I wont rebuy it for the Wii. But despite what others say, I cant wait for Umbrella Chronicles.

The is one zombie in his game. In chapter 1-3, once you get to the lake, shoot the water several times. A zombie will float up to the surface.

No zombies you say?

Well that is a bit disappointing.

Well I guess you could call them Zombies(but smarter) they do eat on you as far as I can remember. They use pitch forks, knifes, ect and they will sometimes run at you. They are more life like instead of brain dead.

Heh heh, you bastard.

I think that Umbrella Chronicles could be really fun, but for some reason the video game bloggers who tried it out seem to hate it.

I played it yesterday and I got to the first village and died cause I ran out of bullets. On the second time I killed everybody. Then I entered a house and the game froze. Ironic. I also played it today again and got past the first chainsaw guy, in which I died again. Everybody dies the first time, right? 🙂

While playing the XBOX 360 I didn't think the graphics were much of an improvement over the last generation... but looking at RE4 I have to say, "Yes they are!" The graphics look very primitive and they look a little weird on a 37" 1080p LCD screen. Still, the graphics are great for last gen consoles. They are very detailed.

Even with primitive graphics, the game is still freaky. I haven't played very much of it, but the weird things going on in Spain just make you wonder. It almost seems like Capcom was influenced a little by Silent Hill in this respect. There were no zombies, but the people I fought might as well have been zombies since they move just as slow most of the time.

The controls at first feel unnatural and can easily got me killed. Slowly, I got used to them, but I've experienced more intuitive controls in other games. The left part of the nunchuck with the joystick is used to move him forward, back, turn left, and turn right. And the Wiimote is used to aim. Looking in this shooter is done for you as you walk, sometimes it won't feel natural. You can look around, but you have to be stopped to do so. I initially had a tough time getting past that fact that I couldn't strafe with the joystick or look around with the Wiimote. I got used to it, but sometimes the controls still confuse me. Sometimes it just because of the awkward placement of the buttons on the Wiimote.

The movement controls just like in previous resident evil games, except the over the shoulder view makes it scarier because you can get hit from behind or from off to the side where you can't see. It's very creepy.

I was a little disappointed that the menu wasn't controllable with the Wiimote. I fully expected, due to the Wii's nature, that I would be able to control the menu with the Wiimote. I think it would have been more intuitive, considering Wii owners would've had plenty of practice in that department just with the Wii menu alone.

Overall, it seems like a fun game, with lots of scary, freaky, sh**.

LOL that's one BIG zombie! :Q 😀

Is there anything special that you get in the Wii version that's different from the GC one...such as unlocked weapons or missions? I just can't wait till number 5 comes out, but it looks like it won't be here for awhile since Capcom hasn't released any recent news about it...🙁

This game was made for the Gamecube with that controller in mind. The controls are one of the sharpest and most accurate of any game I have ever played; on the gamecube that is. I can't wait to check this out on a WII but I don't have high expectations just because it has so much to compete with on the GC version. As for the graphics, this game came out in Jan of 05!! I still can't find a game that can compete graphic wise from the same year. Creepy and eerie game, one of the best/worst however you look at it, the game was a way creepier than most horror movies I've seen. All in all this is one bad ass game and when 5 comes out then it's time to upgrade to the new systems.

This was one of my favorite games on the Gamecube and I'll probably pick it up next week. I can never get enough of this game. It's so good it's timeless.

I played it on the cube and never bothered playing past the first fourth of the game. Just wasn't fun to me. And wave-arm controls only make things more frantic because they are more difficult. So they make it scary by having zombies (or whatever they are) that are terrible AI, and then put in more difficult controls so that you struggle more. Just not fun to me.

I'm guessing some of you are PC gamers who got the Wii cause you thought it was something new, like all the nongamers buying it. People like me who have been playing PC and console games forever find themselves letting their Wii's collect dust.

The novelty will wear off for some of you eventually. Especially once you realize the lack of quality titles and the abundance of cheaply made minigame titles.

Because obviously there aren't any new games coming out for the Wii any time soon and if there were they certainly wouldn't be quality games.

Just picked this game up today. I was waiting for the Gamestop I work at to get some in stock, and when I got to work tonight, lo' and behold, we had about 10 copies freshly stocked. With plans to buy one, a guy came in to trade in his RE4 Wii copy about 15 minutes before it was time for me go home. His copy was absolutely mint, so I purchased it at the used $26.99 price along with my employee discount. Had I a discount card, I would've gotten another $2-3 off.
