Resetting CMOS

I think my MB has died ... tried resetting the CMOS, and now when I reboot it gives me a Disk Failure error on my SATA drive.

Anyone have any ideas on what configuration setting might have been missed, or other ideas for troubleshooting?

Originally the system was hard-locking anywhere from 5min-2 hours at random, and recently happening all the time. Temps are normal, voltages are normal ... ?
