Resetting BIOS?

Ok, so I built a new PC for my bro and everything is working perfectly. That is until I get it into my pea-brain it is IMPeRATIVE that I must update my BIOS. I don't know which one to get, or where even. I am told two different places, I finally resolve myself to contact tech support at VIA. Got a response in a matter of hours.

I have a VIA PX4-266/a Mainboard P4XB-S/R, btw. So I download the .bin file bios and the flash utility, boot from a floppy into DOS and everything goes well. Or so I thought. I tried two other bios files, and the utility graciously told me that I do not have the proper file. This last time, it happily told me that I have finally found the correct one, I save my previous BIOS to to disk. The update finishes, and I get to reboot. I see a new mainboard logo, and I press DEL to get into the BIOS setup, change my boot order and then reboot. YAY!*

*BOO!

Screen goes black immediately and the computer, not the sound card, starts giving me these long beeps with break intervals. OOOOPS! The reset and the power-off buttons on the front of the case no longer work, the only way to turn the computer off is to hit the power button on the back. I start up after 3 minutes, same thing. Black screen and beep intervals.

I guess I fscked myself. What now?

The beeps are actually an eror code (if you weren't aware).
Your MB manual should have a table indicating which error code you are receiving.
