Resetting BIOS CMOS

Hi,

I’m sure this is a simple question, and I am just looking for clarification.

I have Mach Speed MSNV-939 Motherboard, and I was attempting to reset the BIOS CMOS. In the BIOS I had a setting for Manual (100 MHz) in the DDR Speed. I know the default is Auto.

I reset my BIOS using instructions given in the manual i.e. I needed to put a jumper between two pins and then move it back after 5 secs.

After I reset the BIOS, using the above procedure, my BIOS still had the setting for the DDR Speed as Manual (100 MHz). Does this mean it did not get Reset?

Thank you,
O. O.

I always just take the CMOS battery out for a couple of minutes, does the trick every time.

Yep, I always do it that way too on motherboards which don't have the CMOS reset button or switch.
