Resetting a Verizon phone

Is there a way to wipe out everything on an Audiovox cdm 8900?

And why do i still get signal on the network. Everything on my phone starts up good. It just wont let me make a call without "contacting verizon wireless". I should still get signal?

Anything else i should do before selling it?
