I concur. And the Reserator isn't ridiculously expensive.

It also isn't designed to handle more than 90w of heat. You asking for it if you try to cool a CPU, GPU AND PSU.

I'll probably start off with just CPU and GPU, and see how it does. If I don't think I can cool the PSU (before I order it) with it as well, I guess I'll either get another reserator, or get a fanless power supply. I don't think a fanless power supply can work in a case with no airflow though...

Are you going to have a real slow moving 120mm to cool your HDDs? or do they not require cooling... Im not sure what HDDs you have.

Western Digital 80GB Special Editions... I keep meaning to get some quieter drives when they have a good deal going.... Anyways, hard drives are cheap, even if I kill one a year from the heat, no big deal.

Also, true, the only other option for silent computing is that 1200$ 55 pound case by zalman. Suddenly $500 sounds a bit nicer.

Slightly off the topic, how would one water cool their psu? There isnt much space for tubing, and the heatsinks are quite large. I take it the first step would be to create your own custom cooling plates...

2 Res 1's may sound like a viable option, but I suspect there would be design issues to overcome. Considering that it uses 3/8 inch ID tubing you going to have to be prepared to move a lot of coolant fairly quickly for convection to work. This fact alone means the stock pumps would be to be replaced with at least one much more powerful unit. By then you've spent maybe $600. For that amount of money you can build a high-quality internal unit that would be very quiet and high-performning.

I spent about $400 for my water-cooling system and all of a sudden my wife and I can have conversations in the computer room without constantly saying "huh, what did you say?" I knew things were going to be quieter compared to the noise factory I was replacing. But I've been amazed at just how quiet water is, not to mention how well it performs.

I still having problems rapping my brain around the idea of a fanless PSU. Someone's a genious to have thought it up.

As much as I hate ThermalTake, it looks like they're going to be the first major player to bring a fanless PSU to market.

TT is a very cheesy company. Anything I bought from them, besides maybe a fan, would have to be thoroughly reviewed before I took the jump.
