Reseller Ratings is gone!

Yeah, Earthweb sucks. First, they destroy Sysopt.com and now Resellerratings.com.

Here is the link. BTW, TechIMO.com was created by the guy who created Sysopt.com and was then booted from it. Then, a mass exodus occurred, leaving sysopt.com a shell of what it was...

Sysopt.com was my first message board addiciton... I was elite there...

IT'S GONE?!?!?!?!?! Damn!! I may never buy from a new online vendor again. That place was the first place I went after a price check on pricewatch.

Man, that utterly sucks. How many times have you found a great deal on Pricewatch only to go over to Resellerratings and discover that particular co is basically a scam. Why didn't they just move the database somewhere else or something.:|

newegg, mwave, what more do you need? lol

So true, anyone who purchases anything from pricewatch based on the first vendor to pop up is asking for trouble anyway.

Not if you went to reseller ratings and found out they had a good rating with decent amount of reviews. Before mwave and newegg got popular here, I used the resellerratings to decide if I should buy from them the first time.

Bizrate.com

These folks do a similar thing and have many items to search through. Not as well known as resellerattings.com on this board, but they are pretty good at getting quality merchants listed.

Right, which is why I always checked with RESELLERRATINGS FIRST. Can you not read what I wrote earlier?

Anyway, newegg/mwave aren't always going to have what you need at a great price depending on what you're looking for. Computer stuffs, yes. But if you're after an MP3 player or other such stuff, you have to do some digging and rr.com consulting. They did mention that a similar site is in the works, but they'll have to build up the database all over again at the expense of those who get shafted.

Who the hell made this decision? Reseller ratings would prolly bring in more ad money then the url only....and it was mostly a self run site where users just put their own reviews up, i bet one person coulda done it...they shoulda atleast put the script for sale or something.....

PLEASE SOMEONE MAKE A NEW RESELLER RATINGS TYPE SITE!!

Roger that.

Just to add my displeasure... that really sucks. Can't wait for the hundreds of 'Is this seller reputable' threads in the forums. 🙁

Great, now all we have to have is the loss of Google.

Well, here's the solution...

How many of you would be willing to pay such a service/website...oh say...$9.95 per year would cover it (if they had a few thousand registrants), since internet ad revenues went down the crapper?

The silence is always deafening....

Damnit Rossman. You found the real thread before I could put that link here and become the hero...

Oh well, all is fair in love and war.

I'd gladly pay for it, in a NY minute. I also happen to understand business survival.

My bone of contention with Internet.com is that they never offered that option, never discussed it at all. They just nuked the site with no notice, and no warning. Very unprofessional approach to a valuable asset. I also think that the way they did it, redirecting that high volume traffic to one of their other sites, is going to futher erode the loyalty to the sites they've purchased.

Very stupid business decisions coming from this company.

<< The ResellerRatings database is still up. >>

The most important half, the customer comments, links to the old URL and comes up with a permission denied.
