Whats to stop people from lying about their gpa to inflate their own ego?

I'd say 40 hours of work related + leisure activities on the internet.

gpa 2.0

major: art history

a) +/- 40 hours...varies each week too (like on how many work hours I have each week, etc.)
b) 3.0 in Public High School

Old info, but...

First used Internet "seriously" in 1994 when I was a college junior. Spent about 20 hours a week online, average GPA for my final 4 semesters was 3.65.

online time 40hrs a week

gpa 3.0

gpa in major 3.8

gen eds are the suck, i dont waste my time studying for them 🙁

this one is a bit difficult to really correlate--it would depend on how much time people are screwing off on the internet and how much time they were doing something productive. I spend quite a bit of time online reading articles and learning about my specialty... which, while its online time, is a positive thing to my GPA (even though i'm actually not taking classes... so that's kind of odd).

As far as my stats:

Online: I figure 30 or 35 hours a week.
GPA: I finished my masters with a 4.0 (in mechanical engineering), from high school through grad school. I'm currently working on my PhD--but we really don't have a GPA because we don't take classes.

Hope this helps!

avg 40hrs/week for 6years gaming in college (both single player <Castle wofenstein/Civ/etc> and Online)

BS computer engineering: gpa 3.0/4.0
MS Management: GPA 3.4/4.0

Thanks all.. I'm going to incorporate this into some off-line surveying. Looks like all of you are all smarty pantses.

You aren't going to add my information to your survey?

Let's see... I mudded (like EverQuest, except text-based) every day in college and it got in the way of even attending classes. My GPA was pretty low for a while. No research necessary. 😉

You guys are smart! And spend a lot of time in front of the computer!

There has to be a better way of representing the data than the current graph you have.

Btw I believe that 2.0 gpa the one I made up so I think you can remove it.

but this includes college, and high school, rite? you should separate the data from high school and college, cuz imho, high school was a cakewalk in the cake factory on your birthday... too easy....

~30-40 hrs/week

GPA on a 4.0 scale: 4.0 (actually it's over 4.0 if you add the extras from the AP Classes 😀)
