Do those most days and you'd be in decent shape. I'd give myself more than seven minutes though.

You'll get ripped doing that 7 minutes a day.

Also don't forget your kegels when you are in you car or sitting for long periods during the day.

:awe:

Do they say how many reps of each exercise? I don't see it in the article. Do they mean just one of each?

Oh nvm, they say 30 seconds each, 10 second rests.

thats nice for maintenance for someone that wants to just keep themselves mobile. IDK why that is news though. It wont make you strong or give you good cardio. I dont see it making you lose fat very well. Its just something to do so you dont fall down and break your hip getting out of a chair.

I would argue for the majority of people that would be a fantastic workout. I doubt the average person can do 30 seconds of continuous pushups, sit ups, or jumping jacks at a decent pace. For starting out from a sedimentary lifestyle, this might not be that bad. Just don't expect to be like Bruce Lee from doing this.

I think you could get in decent shape if you started to increase the load somehow as you got proficient at the movements. For example, you could start adding weight to the pushups with a backpack maybe or you could raise your feet up onto a chair. You could hold a backpack on your chest during situps and do the squats and jumping jacks with the backpack. There are probably other ways to do something similar with the other exercises.

This.

Can I just do 7 min of the planks/side planks and skip the rest? "Bonus" of having back problems...lots of core strengthening.

Sad statement about people's physical conditioning.

Looks like an ideal workout for during break time at the office. Not enough cardio @ 7 minutes.

Have you seen the overall fitness of the average person? It is rather poor.
100% agree. I go to the local university gym and just a few years ago there was always a wait for the cardio machines. Now, even when the New Year Resolution people show up, no wait....ever.

Wonder how long it'll be before insurance stops paying for type 2 diabetes/complications because it's going to bankrupt them?

The average person can't even do 20 push ups properly imo...

But there is a huge difference between exercising your body and being in shape. If the average person actually ate a decent diet they would be in much better health and we wouldn't have 1/4 of adults being over weight.
