Now I need some help with a letter requesting a leave of absence. This is what I have so far....

November 9, 2007

(company info)
Attn: xxxx

Dear xxxx:

As you may have heard, I will be resigning from xxxx on November 23, 2007 to pursue a job with xxxx. This offer is a temporary assignment and does not guarantee a long term position. It is with this in mind that I am requesting a sixty (60) day leave of absence.

Very truly yours,

xxxx

WTF? I had to read it twice to make sure it wasn't some sort of a 60-day special project given by your current employer.

You MUST be joking. How old are you and how much work experience do you have? Scratch that, how much common sense do you have?

Come on guys...you all know that if you had some super awesome secret government job that only 104 people (104 people ALL working at the same exact company - you know the odds of that are crazy high) could do in the whole world you would totally ask your little brother to go on an open internet forum to ask how you would take a leave of absence

huh? i made it well known that it was for a family member. You can check both threads. I got a government job....I dont need another. In fact, I am transferring from one place to another at the end of the month.

Anyways, yes there are 104 people that do the job. 52 people in NY and 52 people in CA. They are certified by the company and government....that is all I can say.

edit: btw I am 28 and have been employed by the government for 6 years now. my younger brother is the one that asked me for the advice if you must know.

edit2: post #2 by myself states its for the family member....well, before any of the "call outs". nice try though

Its not a government job....its a private company that is contracted out by the government. the private company has over 6000 employees but only 104 of them are certified to do the job.

Tell them you have to go to rehab for 60 days. Come back with a pair of Lohan's panties for proof.
