"I'd suggest setting them up with a dyndns account and installing a client on their pc (I recommend DirectUpdate) and try plugging their dyndns hostname into PCAnywhere. Also, have you tried any other remote administration tools like VNC or Remote Desktop? "
This i have not tried yet. I'm not exactly sure what dyndns does. so i'll look into this today.
I do notice at work, we use pc anywhere to go into our clients server. They dont connect by ip, they connect by a server name. So maybe thats something like this.
When u say try plugging their dyndns host name into pc anywhere what exactly do u mean.....
I made my ip address a name before when i use to use VNC, i used acer.mine.nu
Is that an dyndns account? If so this may indeed be a good idea because if i can ping like
www.yahoo.com by name i can do it with the whatever.mine.nu account
BTW, I did unplug everything and plug my pc directly into the routher and took out all setup network info so i had a standard IP address and i still couldn't ping
My IP address is: 68.55.193.223
So if you guy wanna ping me or something, go for it, but most of the time people can ping me fine.
Ok well any other suggestions for now please let me know,
Thanx,
Dave
