First I would like to say they are NOT extending unemployment benefits for people. They are just allowing more people to receive their full 99 weeks. No one is allowed to get more than 99 weeks of unemployment still, and every month countless people are reaching 99 weeks and going into extreme poverty and homelessness.

Second, we need to raise taxes on the rich not cut them. This is simply sick.

That is not taxes going back into the system. Until the economic activity creates a higher return on taxes that what was sent out; it is still a loss.

It is tax money that has to be balanced not economic activity; Apples and oranges.

Otherwise if that is the case; why should anyone work. Easier to dig the economy out of the doldrums if no one worked - all that extra unemployment money can be handed out. Where does the $$ come from to pay the unemployment checks?

BUT - if a person works and get a higher wage than unemployment the economic factoring would still hold. And the governmental would not be spending the money.

Typical people twisting numbers to justify their handouts

Idiocy level far exceeds the chance a reply will have any benefit.

"If giving people with Syphilis medicine helps them, giving it to everyone will REALLY help the public!"

That's why trying to argue the benefits of limited unemployment in an economy around 5-10% unemployment mean 100% on unemployment is better is like.

$1 in unemployment results in $1.60-$2 in economic activity.
If that was true then all the money we have spent on unemployment over the past few years should have sent the economy through the roof.

Furthermore, why don't we just spent $1 trillion on unemployment and grow the economy by $1.5 trillion in the process?

Because you teabagger serfs rather give money to whatever Republican moneyed lord. The people of this country are rather pathetic. The only reason we don't have something like universal healthcare is simply because of spite by large swaths of teabagging trash. Trillions of dollars have been given to millionaires and central banks for really little benefit.

Remember when fuck face Rick Santelli was complaining about paying for your neighbors mortgage? Who would have guess the people would rather give a select few wealthy families trillions of dollars than paying for every single person mortgage. What fucking difference does it make if trillions of dollars are going to be squandered. But it matters to the right! FUCK YOUR NEIGHBOR SAYS THE REPUBLICAN. I rather see money go to my wealthy lords they say! So be it.

The facts are so simple.

There was a variety of corrupt insurance industry areas several decades ago, using all kinds of corrupt practices that robbed the public.

Because of certain issues, the reforms that improved that for most insurance had a loophole given that the reforms exempted healthcare insurance.

That loophole has been hugely exploited by the industry. It has led to a healthcare for the American people that has a hugely inflated cost, with something like 30% of that cost going to the inherent inefficiencies of hundreds of firms' separate forms being required, and the private sector's denying so many claims that have to be fought out in paper pushing - and add to that the massive profits of the industry.

This is not an example of capitalism where the efficient private sector supplies a good or service efficiently and competitively; it's a huge waste to profit a few owners.

That profit motive involves such large amounts that they have been able to keep our politicians - mostly the Republicans but many of both - paid off to let them do it.

It's strong enough that attempts at reform have been defeated by their funding (Clinton) or corrupted and gutted by compromises knowing they could (Obama).

This is a huge waste of the people's money, and a huge harm to the quality and availability of healthcare, all for the benefit of a few of the rich.

Ever since the industry marked Ronal Reagan's entry into right-wing politics by hiring him as the AMA's spokesman to try to defeat JFK's Medicare policy proposal, the industry has fought the interests of the American people and defeated the far better single-payer system.

You mean that Republican Paul Ryan didn't present a budget plan that kills Medicare, while giving billions in tax cuts to the wealthy?

The Democrats are far from perfect, at least they're not blatently favoring wealthy citizens at the expense of middle class and poor citizens.

Yes, is there any doubt that if they could the Republicans would simply abolish Medicare, which they have largely opposed since its creation?

But if they voted honestly, to do what they want, they know they'd get killed because this is still a little bit a democracy.

So instead they came up with a con - they took a $23,000 value program of Medicare and proposed a $15,000 voucher replacement - pretending they're equal, a lie.

The people are forced to come up with the difference - an effective tax increase on them.

In the meantime, the tax cuts for the rich give about the same amount cut from Medicare to the rich.

It's a simple transfer of wealth, from everyone not rich, to the rich - and the change would pave the way for future cuts to the voucher amount based on 'we can't afford'.

And as Medicare fails, the people appreciate it less, losing credit for the Democrats.

Don't you all feel and smell it in the wind? The repubs and teabaggers, in their illusionary "mandate mode" of mind again, have clearly overstepped some imaginary line drawn in the sand, and have committed political suicide by inconveniently pointing out one very obvious fact: the blatant push to make the rich ever so much richer have woken up those millions of middle class working stiff repubs who now clearly see they have been duped into voting aginst their own best interests.

Let the good times roll.

I say its to fucking late. I want to see the archangel of death Paul Ryan's budget to go through. I want the teabaggers to get exactly what they vote for. The Republican dissolution of medicare will be a HOLOCAUST for the baby boomers. It will be a decade of death and after its all said and done the fools will realize what they voted for as they breath in the inescapable stench of death.

Better we drive the country into the abyss now, so sooner we can build a civilized society.

It won't change until the revolution, sadly.

There's never going to be a revolution in the US.

It can still happen in other countries, when the militaries don't put them down.

But in the US, everything is the strongest it's ever been against revolution. From media to intelligence to economics to military strength, it all works out to 'not a chance'.

That's one more reason it's important to push for reform - it's that or disatrous policy.

Forget about raising taxes, it's not possible. It's been proven and said everywhere that reinstating the Clinton Tax levels for everyone would only bring in $370Bn more revenue, $300B of which would come from the bottom 98%. Deflating to 100% reserve ratio so everyone can get their FRNs out of the bank to exchange for gold and silver under a Precious Metals Act, then defaulting. and finally balancing the budget is the only way out of this shit. The sooner that happens the better.

How about the rich don't pay ANY taxes? And, we contribute the most amount of government money to all the companies they own?

Even better, how about we work in these companies, at no cost to the companies?

That way, the products they create and sell will generate a 1,000% profit.

Wait,... who will buy these products if the lower classes aren't making ANY money???

Not likely - they have all the guns. Besides, no one expects keyboard jockeys like yourself to be leading arevolution any time soon.
