I dunno. There is quite a bit of difference from protecting your neighborhood and your direct way of life from fire/crime and volunteering to go off to some 3rd world shithole with people trying to blow you up and shooting machine guns at you.
I gotta agree with John on this one, we should be ashamed of the way we treat our Vets. They are one of the largest group of homeless people we have in our nation, often due to psychological issues that imo might have something to do with them being Vets. That is unacceptable.
Do we have any proof that these people DO NOT have treatment options available to them in the United States? I realize freedom is a relatively foreign concept to some of the EU socialists, but we DO allow people to make their own choices in the U.S., even IF they are poor ones. Should we take these homeless vets and lock them into treatment centers against their will?
No proof has been provided to me that our Vets do not get the treatment options they need. It MAY be happening, but I'm not taking the word of proven liars on it. I also don't see how UHC would necessarily solve the problem either again unless we force these people into treatment centers.
